Basic Philosophy

Web pages should be as simple as possible. Then they will load quickly and be viewable on as many browsers as possible. This is the design philosophy I adopted for most of this site.

Why have a Web Site?

• Well for starters, your Internet Service Provider (ISP) has probably given you some free space and it would be a shame to waste it!
• Then it gives you somewhere to tell people about your interests and hobbies and so maybe meet new friends with similar interests. For example by having genealogical information on this site, I have been contacted by a number of people who may have links with our family.
• Finally it is a good way to learn more about how the web works. You never know when the skills learnt may come in useful in this "brave new e-world".

Easy, just click here. This will lead you to a set of pages which I set up whilst teaching some friends how to create their own web sites. They were intended to be somewhere to keep some notes as we went along and are still being extended from time to time as I think of other topics to add.
